FAULT FINDING PROCEDURE

SEQUENCE TO BE FOLLOWED

When fault finding on this system, it is imperative to follow the sequence shown on general page before,
taking account of the modifications.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN

Use EUROSUPER unleaded petrol RON 95 minimum.
For further information on the operation of this system, refer to the "principle of operation" in general page.

FAULT FINDING CHARTS

Introduction of the double coil entails changes to some charts to some charts because of
modifications to the harnesses and components:
    * Checking the presence of high tension at cylinders 1-4 and 2-3: see section 1 in this page.
    * Check of ignition coil 1 1135: see section 2 in this page.
    * Check of ignition coil 2 1135: see section 2 in this page.
    * Check of the ignition amplifier module 1105: see section 3 in this page.

There is no change to the fault codes and the other fault finding charts.

NOTE
When general page calls for an ignition check, refer to section 1, 2 and 3 of this supplement.

Check the presence of high tension at cylinders 1-4 and 2-3


IGNITION SYSTEM

SPARK PLUGS
    * Type: EYQUEM RFC 52LS or CHAMPION RC 9YCC
    * Electrode gap: 0,8+ 0,05 mm
    * Tightening torque : 2,75 m.dan ( 20 Ibf ft)


CHECKS

Prior conditions
    * Supply to control unit 1320 correct:
    * Check of injection relay 1302 correct:
    * Engine speed sensor 1313 correct:
