Peugeots leave their horse-drawn heritage behind, developing into true cars with bonnets and steering wheels.

The Lion Peugeot small cars team: Giuppone, Goux, Boillot

1907 First light 1.75 hp motorbike engines appear. Development of the factory in Pont-de-Roide (Doubs). Establishment of Établissements Peugeot & Cie. In March, a Lion-badged Peugeot wins the cup in the small car competition, with Giuppone at the wheel.

1908 The combined output of Automobiles Peugeot and Les fils de Peugeot frères reaches 2220 units. The Lion Peugeot small cars carry off a number of important victories in competition, particularly the Targa Florio with Giuppone.

1909 The Lion Peugeot small cars, still driven by the Lion-badged Peugeot team Giuppone again take the prize in the small car category in the Targa Florio and also the cup for small cars organized by Auto magazine.
